During the week of September 20 - September 26, three lives were lost to violence. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has investigated 102 homicides this year, compared to 75 this time last year.
For the week, there were 44 instances of gunfire. OPD officers recovered 35 firearms for a total of 902 this year. There were 36 robberies and seven carjackings.
We must come together as a city to end the violence in our community. If you see something, say something.!!
OPD encourages residents and business owners to consider installing security cameras as well as alarms. These technologies can both deter crime and help solve crimes after they occur.
