Incident: Juvenile at Middle School in Possession of a Loaded Handgun

Information:
On Monday 09/27/21, at approximately 12:21 PM, the Rialto Police Department was notified of a 13-year-old student at Kolb Middle School who was on campus with a loaded handgun. Rialto Police Officers responded and contacted the student. The student was found to have a loaded handgun in the student’s backpack. The student was taken into custody at 1:13 PM and booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of PC 626.9 (b) – Possession of a firearm in a gun-free school zone and PC 25400 (a) – Possession of a concealed firearm. The Rialto Police Department and Rialto Unified School District worked in concert throughout the investigation and will continue to do so.
