On September 25th at 4:00am, Officers located a burning Jeep SUV on its roof near Rohnert Park Expressway and Snyder Lane. The vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a nearby redwood tree.

Officers were able to locate a male in the area walking away from the scene.  They noticed he was missing a shoe.  Officer found a shoe in the vehicle that matched the shoe the male was wearing. Officers also located drug paraphernalia and several open containers of alcohol.

The male was determined to be the driver of the vehicle.  Officers found a loaded 40-caliber magazine in the driver’s possession.  As they checked the area officers found a “ghost gun” of the same caliber on the ground near where officers had located the driver.  The gun was missing a magazine. A ghost gun is one that has been manufactured without serial numbers or had the serial number removed. 

Officers believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol so they did an investigation.  After completing a DUI investigation, the driver was determined to have a BAC of .18%, three times the legal limit. The driver was identified as 19 year old Santa Rosa resident, Raul Gijon. He was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, tampering with serial numbers, possession of a loaded firearm in public and hit and run.

El 25 de septiembre a las 4:00 am, los oficiales localizaron una camioneta Jeep en llamas en su techo cerca de Rohnert Park Expressway y Snyder Lane. El vehículo se había salido de la calzada y chocó con una secuoya cercana.

Los oficiales pudieron localizar a un hombre en el área que se alejaba de la escena. Se dieron cuenta de que le faltaba un zapato. El oficial encontró un zapato en el vehículo que combinaba con el zapato que llevaba el hombre. Los oficiales también localizaron parafernalia de drogas y varios contenedores abiertos de alcohol.

Se determinó que el hombre era el conductor del vehículo. Los oficiales encontraron una revista cargada calibre 40 en posesión del conductor. Mientras revisaban el área, los oficiales encontraron una “pistola fantasma” del mismo calibre en el suelo cerca de donde los oficiales habían localizado al conductor. Al arma le faltaba un cargador. Una pistola fantasma es aquella que se ha fabricado sin números de serie o se le ha quitado el número de serie.

Los oficiales creían que el conductor estaba bajo la influencia del alcohol, por lo que hicieron una investigación. Después de completar una investigación de DUI, se determinó que el conductor tenía un BAC de. 18%, tres veces el límite legal. El conductor fue identificado como Raúl Gijón, residente de Santa Rosa de 19 años. Fue puesto bajo arresto por conducir bajo los efectos del alcohol, alteración de números de serie, posesión de un arma de fuego cargada en público y atropello y fuga.
