Twenty-one (21) Cited During Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Operation

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Rancho Cucamonga Station conducted twenty-four (24) traffic stops which resulted in one arrest and twenty-one (21) citations, issued for a variety of violations made by drivers during a pedestrian safety enforcement operation on September 28, 2021.

The operation took place at Hermosa Avenue and Mignonette Street from 2:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. Twenty-four people were contacted during the operation.

Twenty-one (21) drivers were cited for violations including California Vehicle Code (CVC)21950(a) Driver failure to yield, CVC21950(c) Unsafe speed at a crosswalk, CVC 22350 Unsafe speed, and CVC27315(d)(1) Seatbelt. One driver was arrested for CVC 23103 Reckless driving.

“We hope this operation serves as a reminder to everyone to practice safe driving and walking behaviors when they are out” Deputy Melissa Harrison said. 

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Rancho Cucamonga Station will be holding another pedestrian safety enforcement operation on September 30, 2021.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
