LASD**3RD-UPD** Mother Arrested for the Murder of Her Children, Lancaster
Los Angeles County Sheriff Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into the deaths of a 13-year-old female black and a 12-year-old male black on the 45000 block of Century Circle in the City of Lancaster on Friday, December 4, 2020, at approximately 7:50 A.M.
Further investigation by Homicide Investigators developed information that led the Los Angeles County District Attorney to charge 44-year-old Natalie Brothwell with two counts of murder and two counts of felony child endangerment of her 12-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter on Monday, September 27, 2021. Based on these charges, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Brothwell was arrested at her residence in Tucson, Arizona. She will be held at the Pima County Jail pending extradition back to California.
The other suspect, Maurice Taylor, remains in custody.

Detectives have arrested Maurice Taylor Sr. Male Black 34 years of age for the Murder of his 12 year old son and 13 year old daughter.
Suspect Taylor was booked at Lancaster station and is being held with a bail of 2 million dollars.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of a female black and a male black possibly in their teenage years on the 45000 block of Century Circle, Lancaster on Friday, December 4, 2020 at approximately 7:50 A.M.
Detectives have learned that Los Angeles County Fire Personnel received a call at the location regarding a possible gas leak. Fire personnel responded and made entry into the location, at which time they saw a male and a female deceased inside the location. Fire personnel immediately called LA County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station deputies, which responded and secured the location.
Detectives have learned that the deceased male and female both appeared to be suffering from lacerations and stab wounds.
At the location there was also one male and one female adult, along with two other children who are currently being questioned by Homicide Investigators.
The relationship between the decedents and the four persons at the location is unknown at this time pending interviews with Homicide Investigators.
