Suspect Arrested for Firearms Violations
Suspect: Khabbaz, Jean George 51-year old male (In-custody)
On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at approximately 5:33 PM, Redwood City Police Officers responded to the 1300 block of Marshall Street on a report of a “hand to hand” narcotics transaction between two males with a third male holding a handgun. The reporting party observed the male with the gun get into a Honda and leave the scene. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at Chestnut Street and Marshall Street, and detained the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, who was identified as Jean Khabbaz (51). Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a loaded, unregistered, semi-automatic 9mm pistol concealed in a backpack on the front passenger floorboard.
Khabbaz was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle, and carrying a concealed and loaded weapon in public, and felon in possession of a firearm.
