James Henslee arrested for assault with a deadly weapon

INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 100 block of North L Street, Needles
SUSPECT(S): James Henslee, 58-year-old resident of Needles
VICTIM(S): 60-year-old male resident of Needles
SUMMARY: On Saturday, October 2, 2021, at approximately 9:20 a.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of North L Street, in reference to a welfare check.
While on scene, deputies contacted James Henslee. Henslee told deputies he and the male victim got into a fight. Deputies made multiple attempts to contact the victim inside the residence before forcing entry into the home. The victim was located inside the home, with injuries sustained during the fight. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
Henslee was consequently arrested for PC 245(A)(1), Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the Colorado River Station jail with bail set at $50,000. Henslee remains in custody awaiting a court hearing.
