INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: I Avenue and Catalpa Street, Hesperia
INVOLVED PARTY (1): Jeanne Conrow, 81-year-old Hesperia Resident
INVOLVED VEHICLE (1): 1997 Saturn S-series
SUMMARY: On Sunday, October 3, 2021, at approximately 2:37 p.m., deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a single vehicle traffic collision involving a 1997 Saturn S-series, in the area of I Avenue and Catalpa Street in the city of Hesperia.
Through preliminary investigation, it is believed the Saturn travelled north on I Avenue, south of the intersection with Catalpa Street. The Saturn left the east roadway edge for unknown reasons and struck a utility pole causing the vehicle to overturn. As a result, the 81-year-old female driver, later identified as Jeanne Conrow, succumbed to her injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators from the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and assumed the investigation. It is still under investigation whether drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in this crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact Deputy D.
