INCIDENT: Possession of a Loaded Firearm while Under the Influence
LOCATION: Rio Vista Drive / Creete Road, Big River, CA
SUSPECT(S): Waylon Rider, 44-year-old resident of Big River, CA
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, October 4, 2021, at approximately 7:38 p.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River / Needles Station conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Rio Vista Drive and Creete Road in Big River. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Waylon Rider. During the investigation, Rider was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a loaded handgun and rifle.
Rider was placed under arrest for and HS 11550E, possession of a loaded firearm while under the influence of a controlled substance. Rider was booked at the Colorado River Station jail with a bail amount of $50,000.00. Rider remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, awaiting a court hearing.
