Residents report suspicious activity in their Rancho Cucamonga neighborhood; suspect arrested

DATE/TIME: October 5, 2021 12:15 a.m.

INCIDENT: Mail Theft

LOCATION: 9000 block of Tryon Street, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Lindsay Evans, Age 28 of San Bernardino

VICTIM(S): Multiple Residents


SUMMARY: On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Deputy Leese and Deputy Lim of the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a report of a person stealing mail from mailboxes in the neighborhood.

Deputies contacted Lindsay Evans, who was riding a bicycle in the neighborhood. Evans was in possession of numerous pieces of mail belonging to residents in the area, as well as a controlled substance. Deputies Leese and Lim contacted over 10 victims who were unaware Evans had their mail. 

Evans was arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center on charges of PC 530.5 (C) (3)-Possession of Identification of over 10 people, HS11364 (A)- Possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and HS11377 (A)- Possession of a controlled substance.
