Flash Flood Warning until 10:30AM

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Eastern Buncombe County in western North Carolina... Southwestern McDowell County in western North Carolina... Northwestern Rutherford County in western North Carolina...

* Until 1030 AM EDT.

* At 734 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen since early this morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Marion, Lake Lure, Old Fort, Chimney Rock Village, Chimney Rock State Park, Lake James, Sugar Hill, Pleasant Gardens and Shingle Hollow.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BUNCOMBE, NC ... MCDOWELL, NC ... RUTHERFORD, NC
