REMINDER: Leonia Master Plan Community Workshop - October 20, 2021
The Borough of Leonia is launching its Master Plan to shape the physical, social, environmental, and economic future of the Borough. The updated Master Plan will provide a framework for preserving Leonia’s character, supporting investment, and promoting desired changes, and we need your help.
What is a Master Plan?
A Master Plan provides a guide for the future development of a ommunity. It serves as a comprehensive approach to planning issues and considers many factors impacting a community’s economic evelopment needs. The Master Plan gives the municipality the legal basis for control over future development, as well as land use planning olicy and zoning changes. Most changes are implemented in the form of zoning amendments and land development ordinances. The last time the Borough of Leonia completed a full Master Plan was in 2002 and last reexamined its Master Plan in 2020 & 2010. The new Master Plan is expected to be complete by the end of 2021.
