Grundy County Deputy Shot during traffic stop. Manhunt underway for this individual.
A Grundy County Deputy conducting a traffic stop at approximately 5:10pm, on IL
Route 47 near Mazon, IL has been shot. A manhunt is underway in the Mazon area. We are asking all residents to stay inside, lock your doors, and report any suspicious activity.
A Grundy County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on IL Route 47 at DuPont Rd. The vehicle fled from the scene. The vehicle was involved in two separate motor vehicle crashes prior to coming to a stop near the railroad crossing at Grand Ridge Rd. in Mazon. The offender fled on foot. During the foot pursuit the offender fired multiple gun shots at the Deputy. The Deputy was struck multiple times and is currently under medical care in stable condition.
The offender is a M/B approximately 18 years old, wearing a white tshirt, jeans and one white shoe. The subject is armed.
