WIND ADVISORY & FIRE WEATHER WARNING
From the National Weather Service - the Wind Advisory and the Red Flag Warning have been extended for all Islands until 6 PM Sunday
Expect East winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts to 50 mph.
EFFECTS: Winds this strong can bring down trees and branches, cause potential power disruptions, blow away unsecured objects, and make driving difficult.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will create rapid fire growth potential. A red flag warning does not predict new fire starts.
INFORMATION: The Maui County Emergency Management Agency will continue to monitor the situation. Additional information may be found through your local TV and radio stations, or NOAA Weather Radio. National Weather Service information can be obtained at weather.gov/hfo, or by calling 1-866-944-5025.
