Sheriff's Marine Enforcement Unit recognized for their efforts during Operation Dry Water

SUMMARY: On July 4th, 2021 holiday weekend, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Marine Enforcement Unit participated in the National Association of State Boating Law Administrator's Operation Dry Water. Operation Dry Water is a national year-round campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of boating under the influence. On July 4th weekend, departments nationwide participated in a heightened enforcement weekend focusing on boating under the influence. Operation Dry Water Awards Program recognizes law enforcement officers and agencies that are making a positive impact on boating under the influence (BUI) enforcement and outreach within their communities. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Marine Enforcement Unit received an award for Top Agency in small agency category for their efforts during Operation Dry Water. The Marine Enforcement Unit made 17 arrests for boating under the influence during the operation.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's Marine Enforcement Unit would like to thank the National Association of State Boating and Law Administrators for allowing them to be a part of Operation Dry Water. San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is dedicated to providing a safe boating atmosphere for the public and urges everyone to boat sober and wear their life jackets.
