Changes in Garbage & Library Services
Due to the upcoming Election Day Holiday, there will be some changes in a few Borough services. Please be advised of the following changes.
Garbage – There will be no garbage collection on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. The entire town will be collected on Monday, November 1st. Normal regular collections will resume on Wednesday, November 3rd.
Parking – Alternate Side and Overnight Parking rules will remain in effect.
Transportation – The Senior Bus and Medical Transport will be operating as normal for the day.
Borough Hall – The Borough Hall will be open. Most offices will be open normal business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM However, the Borough Clerks Office will be open until 8:00 PM to answer any election or polling questions. Those visiting Borough Hall must be wearing a mask and have their temperature checked upon entering the building. Visitors are also required to socially distance themselves.
Polling / Voting Sites – Polling locations at the Carlstadt Civic Center and the Carlstadt Public School (Cafeteria off of Union Street) will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Mail in ballots may be dropped off in the voting box located in front of the Borough Hall, 500 Madison Street. It is located at the curb next to the Postal Mailbox. Other locations may be found here: https://www.co.bergen.nj.us/bergen-county-board-of-elections/ballot-drop-box-locations
Anyone visiting a polling site must wear a mask and follow all social distancing guidelines.
Municipal Court – Court sessions continue to be held virtually. However, the court offices have reopened to assist those who have business with the court. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Court offices will be open on Election Day
Library -- The William E. Dermody Free Public Library will be closed for Election Day and will reopen on Wednesday, November 3rd. Hours for the Library are 10am to 8pm, Monday through Thursday; 10am to 5pm on Fridays; and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays. Masks and temperature scans are required of visitors.
We remind you to please wear a mask when you go out, particularly if you are unvaccinated.
