The Fairfield Police Department is helping to spread awareness about an important topic; domestic violence by displaying purple ribbons around Fairfield.
As we continue to advocate, support and increase awareness about domestic violence year-around; October is domestic violence awareness month. Domestic violence affects people of all backgrounds and cultures, just remember you are not alone.
The Fairfield Police Department has partnered with the non-profit organization, Solano Advocates for Victims of Violence (SAVV) to display purple ribbons around Downtown Fairfield to honor survivors, and those that lost their life to domestic violence.
Advocates for Victims of Violence (SAVV) is a nonprofit organization that primarily assists victims of domestic violence. Services include bilingual (Spanish) case management, court accompaniment, restraining orders, emergency financial assistance, DV counseling, support groups, TRO legal representation, and DV awareness and prevention. Our Family Violence Unit is a great example of innovative law enforcement by taking a holistic approach supporting victims of violence.
The Fairfield Police Departments’ Family Violence Unit consists of three Detectives, one Victim Advocate, and a Police Technician with the specialized knowledge and training necessary to deal with the sensitive nature of victims exposed to domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse crimes.
All services are confidentially, and the victims are not required to have a police report with law enforcement.
