Three Vehicle Collision in Hesperia Causes the Shut Down of Traffic on Summit Valley Road; No Injuries Reported

SUMMARY: On Friday, October 15, 2021 at approximately 7:54 a.m., deputies from the Hesperia Station, California Highway Patrol, and emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving three vehicles near the intersection of Summit Valley Road and Telephone Canyon Road in the city of Hesperia.
Through preliminary investigation and statements of the involved parties, it was determined that vehicle #1, a Mazda, was travelling southbound on Summit Valley Road and attempted to pass vehicle #2, a Ford towing a horse trailer, by crossing over a solid double yellow line. When driver #1 observed vehicle #3, a Nissan, approaching northbound, driver #1 swerved into the left side of vehicle #2 and proceeded to side-swipe vehicle #3.
All parties involved in the collision were uninjured. All three vehicles sustained minor to moderate damage and for a short period of time during the investigation, all lanes of Summit Valley Road were blocked.
