Two suspects arrested in connection to West Berkeley gun violence

On the morning of October 14th, detectives conducted several search warrants throughout the Bay Area in connection to a shooting that occurred in the area of Tenth Street and Addison Street on September 4th.

During the September daytime shooting, several bystanders in the area had to run for cover—as suspects fired multiple bullets without regard for anyone else.

During the investigation, witness accounts, video surveillance, and automated license plate readers from other jurisdictions assisted investigators in identifying suspects.

With the assistance of officers from the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Santa Rosa Police Department, Vallejo Police Department, San Pablo Police Department and the Berkeley Police Department, two suspects (a 19-year-old Santa Rosa man and a 17-year-old Vallejo male juvenile) were arrested and several dangerous weapons were seized (two assault weapons, four handguns, a 50-round drum magazine, and ammunition).  Both suspects are gang members.

The Berkeley Police Department takes great pride in keeping our community safe.  We appreciate the public’s support and are pleased that we were able to bring justice to those who wish to do harm to our community.
