DATE OF RELEASE: Saturday, October 16, 2021
On October 15, 2021, at approximately 5:27 pm the West Covina Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of South Montezuma Way. Patrol officers arrived and found an unresponsive male, 55 years old, with a fatal gunshot wound in his upper torso. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Several witnesses are being interviewed and the investigation is ongoing. One possible suspect was detained pending further investigation.
