Sheriff's Patrol Helicopter 40K3 and Air Rescue Helicopter 306 Deployed and Rescued and Injured Hiker

INCIDENT: Mount Baldy Summit Rescue
LOCATION: San Antonio Peak
SUSPECT(S): NA
VICTIM(S): Arnulfo Sanchez, 35-years-old of Menifee
SUMMARY: On October 16, 2021, Arnulfo Sanchez hiked up to the Mount Baldy summit and started experiencing cramping. He waited approximately five hours at the summit and his medical condition worsened. He called 911, but the call disconnected before the dispatcher could get information about his condition and exact location.
Sheriff's Patrol Helicopter 40K3 was dispatched to locate Sanchez. 40K3 arrived on scene and quickly located Sanchez who appeared to be incapacitated.
Sheriff's Rescue Helicopter Air Rescue 306 was dispatched and contacted Sanchez. AR306 landed off site at the summit, and deployed Rescue Medic Peng, who conducted a medical assessment on Sanchez. Sanchez could not walk and was packaged into a rescue litter and loaded into the helicopter.
Sanchez was flown to the San Antonio Canyon Dam where fire personnel provided additional medical care.
