Five arrested for organized retail theft in Corte Madera

Five suspects were arrested last week after committing an organized retail theft at a Corte Madera business.

On Wednesday afternoon, October 13th, Central Marin Police received a report of a shoplifting that just occurred at the Lululemon store in The Village at Corte Madera.  Five suspects went into the store, grabbed "armfuls" of merchandise and ran out.  The stolen merchandise was valued at nearly $21,000. The suspects fled in a dark blue Toyota Camry, last seen driving towards US-101.  A witness saw the vehicle and reported the license plate number.  San Francisco Police received a "Be on the Look Out" broadcast and within a short period of time they located the car, the five suspects, and the stolen property from Lululemon.

Three of the five suspects were juveniles, ages 17, 16, and 14.  The two adults, Tre'jor Barber (19) of Pacifica and Tiairrah Jones (19) of San Francisco, and the juvenile suspects were arrested in San Francisco by Central Marin Police officers and detectives.  The juveniles were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall, and the adults were booked at the Marin County Jail on charges of burglary, theft, and conspiracy. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime contained suspected stolen merchandise and was towed as evidence.

This type of organized retail theft is occurring more frequently, both in Marin and throughout the Bay Area.  Our investigation is continuing while we determine if these suspects are associated with other similar crimes in our area.  Central Marin Police takes all reports of organized retail theft crimes seriously and we fully dedicate our resources to swiftly investigating and making arrests in these incidents.
