Heavy Rains are Expected.. Are you ready?

HEAVY RAINS ARE EXPECTED - ARE YOU READY?
Heavy rains are expected this weekend bringing the possibility of flooding; downed trees, and/or downed power lines.  The City of Newark wants you to be prepared.  Did you know that the City has free sand and sand bags available in the event of flooding?

REPORTING FLOODING / DOWNED TREES  - Flooding conditions and downed trees should be reported to Newark’s Maintenance Division at (510) 578-4806, Monday – Thursday and open Fridays from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.  After hours, please call the Newark Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch line at (510) 578-4237. 

REPORTING DOWNED POWER LINES:
STAY AWAY from downed power lines.  Assume they are energized and dangerous.  Call 9-1-1 immediately to report the location of a downed line.
