Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Hispanic juvenile and injuring of another. The incident was reported Saturday, October 23, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m., near the 9600 block of Normandie Avenue in Los Angeles.
Deputies responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. They first victim, male Hispanic 15 years of age was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased. The second victim, male Black adult was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are canvassing the area for potential witnesses and possible video surveillance.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to the 9600 block of Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles, regarding the shooting death of one victim and the injuring of another. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at approximately 9:07 PM.
A male juvenile was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A male adult, who was also at the scene at the time of incident, was injured by gun fire and treated at the scene by responding paramedics.
