Forest Service is burning piles on Phillips Ridge in the Teton Pass area this week 10/25-10/29. No need to report.

MESSAGE RELAYED ON BEHALF OF TETON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE DISPATCH AND BRIDGER-TETON NATIONAL FOREST

Bridger-Teton National Forest will be burning slash piles in the Phillips Ridge area on Teton Pass from 10/25/21 through 10/29/21. People throughout the valley can expect to see smoke in the Teton Pass area all throughout the week. This important wildfire mitigation measure helps to remove fuels buildup that can be dangerous in the height of wildfire season in the summer. Performing these burns now helps to make our community safer during wildfire season.

Please do not report smoke from the Phillips Ridge/Teton Pass area. If you do see smoke in an area not near the pile burning on Teton Pass, do not hesitate to report it to the smoke report hotline at 307-739-3630.
