The City of Rahway is expecting 2-4 inches of rain over the next 48 hours from the start of the storm which is expected to start at 6pm.  
Notice to residents regarding National Weather Service (NWS) Flash Flood Watch 10/25/21 through 10/26/21:
The NAtional Weather Service issued a Flash Flood watch for Union County due to pending weather conditions. 
A Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for a specific hazardous weather event to occur.
IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT FLOOD WILL OCCUR, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE.
A "Flood Watch" is the middle of three cautionary levels regarding potential flooding.

Tonight a storm is anticipated to create localized flooding in areas that commonly flood.
Note that the severity of the flooding is dependant on the duration and intensity of rainfall and time of high tide so conditions may change.
Below are recommendations to keep in mind in advance of any storm:
-Ensure you have enough medicine, food, and water for three days.
-Have batteries, blankets, first aid kit, rubber boots and gloves, and a NOAA weather radio or other battery-operated radio easily available.
-Make sure your cell phone and portable radios are all charged in case you lose power or need to evacuate.
If your property is in a Flood Hazard Area, know your evacuation route and remove your vehicles from commonly known flooding areas.
-DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OR WALK THROUGH DEEP OR MOVING WATER!!!!
