DECEASED FEMALE FOUND IN DELAWARE COUNTY; OSBI ASSISTING WITH DEATH INVESTIGATION
DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is assisting with a death investigation after a deceased female is found in rural Delaware County. The woman was found around 11 a.m. today near East 570 Road and 600 Road in Kansas, Oklahoma. Investigators from the Sprindale, Arkansas Police Department, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and the OSBI were in the area searching after items belonging to a missing Springdale woman were found yesterday along the road.
The investigation originated in Springdale when Ava Theresa Moore, 82, was reported missing from her home on Carly Road on October 20, 2021. Moore’s vehicle was also missing from the residence. The Springdale Police Department has been actively looking for Moore since she was reported missing that day.
On October 24, 2021 at approximately 2:00 p.m., a detective from Springdale received a call that Moore’s purse and contents had been located near Kansas, Oklahoma. Her missing vehicle was found unoccupied a short distance away from her purse. When the deceased female was found, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI open a full investigation.
At this time, the Medical Examiner has the deceased and will determine positive identification, as well as her manner and cause of death.
