State of Emergency for NJ, Monday, Oct 25, 8 PM
The Saddle Brook Police Department reminds residents that Governor Murphy has declared a State of Emergency that goes into effect tonight, Monday, October 25, at 8:00 PM through Tuesday, October 26.
This declaration is in anticipation of the heavy rain forecast for our area tonight into tomorrow.
The anticipated storm is expected to bring possible flash flooding across New Jersey. Citizens should stay off roads, remain vigilant and follow all safety protocols.
A State of Emergency is an official declaration that is used to help emergency personnel respond to hazardous weather conditions or in anticipation of them, according to the National Weather Service. When a State of Emergency is declared, the state can then work with county and local officials to assist where needed.
