NEWARK POLICE ARREST ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS

Newark, California (Monday, October 25, 2021)
On Thursday, October 21, 2021, Newark Police Detectives, in conjunction with other regional law enforcement agency detectives, served three simultaneous search and arrest warrants at three residences.  The early morning operation included SWAT teams from agencies in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Alameda Counties.

The warrants were the result of over two months of investigation that began on August 17, 2021, when two back-to-back armed robberies occurred at two different convenience stores in Newark.  The weapon used in the robberies was a handgun.    The investigation revealed that the robbery suspects were responsible for other robberies committed in Bay Area cities, which led Detectives to residences in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Alameda Counties.

During the service of the warrants, all three subjects were arrested. Three handguns, a stolen rifle, high-capacity magazines, and numerous rounds of ammunition were recovered.  The subjects arrested have been identified as Jeremiah Manor, 19-years-old, James Williams, 19-years-old, and a 17-year-old juvenile.

The charges being filed in this case include robbery, possession of an un-serialized firearm known as a "ghost gun," felon in possession of a firearm, probation violation, committing a felony while out on bail, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of stolen property, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Currently, this incident remains under investigation. Given the fact that this case involved a juvenile, we will not be releasing any additional information about the juvenile.

If you have any information regarding this investigation or believe you were victimized, please contact Newark Police Detective Sergeant Yama Homayoun at [email protected] or 510.578.4920.

Information can also be left anonymously on the "Anonymous Tip" hotline at 510.578.4965.
