On Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 4:25 PM, CPD officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Alder Avenue regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers were advised of a 16 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his hip. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for medical treatment and is expected to recover. Officers attempted to contact several witnesses at the scene who were uncooperative with providing information about the shooting. During the investigation, officers learned the male victim was walking in the area with some friends when a vehicle approached and several gunshots were fired from the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Alder Avenue. The suspect vehicle is a dark colored passenger vehicle, possibly a Dodge Charger.
