AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators)
The Wise River Ambulance Service has purchased two portable AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators) for our community. One is mounted in the Wise River Post Office lobby which allows 24x7 access for community-wide use. The second device is kept on the WR ambulance vehicle for response to 911 calls. Per the American Red Cross, sudden cardiac arrest remains one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. AED’s can restore a regular heart rhythm during cardiac arrest. This tool is easy to operate for someone with no medical background. The Wise River Ambulance Service conducts safety checks on these two devices routinely.
