Man Under the Influence Arrested After Entering a Resident's Garage in Rancho Cucamonga

LOCATION: 10000 Block Orange Street, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Rasmussen, Rasmuss Peter Age: 31 Resident of La Verne, CA

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station responded to a call in the 10000 block of Orange Street. A resident reported she was in her garage with her children when an unknown male entered the garage, acting erratically.
The resident advised dispatch her husband had the male detained and that she and her children were safely out of the house. The resident also reported they had observed the male walking around the neighborhood earlier acting strangely and believed he may be drunk or on drugs.
When deputies arrived, they found the male, identified as Rasmuss Peter Rasmussen, still inside the resident’s garage. Rasmussen was incoherent and did not know where he was. Through the investigation, deputies determined Rasmussen was under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested him.
Rasmussen was transported and booked in at the West Valley Detention Center for the above charge. The case is being forwarded to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. The District Attorney's Office will determine if additional charges, including criminal trespassing, should be sought.
