Lakeshore Flood Warning until 05:00AM Saturday

* WHAT...Significant lakeshore flooding expected.

* WHERE...Wayne County.

* WHEN...From noon today to 5 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads closed and low lying property including parking lots, lawns, and homes and businesses will be inundated near the lake. Some shoreline erosion will occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Prolonged easterly winds through tonight will allow for elevated water levels over western Lake Erie. The peak winds, highest waves, and highest water levels are expected to be this afternoon and evening when winds will likely peak around 35 mph. The water level at Gibraltar is expected to exceed 70 inches above chart datum late this afternoon and early evening. Rain overspreading the area with pockets of moderate to briefly heavy rainfall this afternoon and evening may also contribute to flood concerns. Over one inch of rain is expected through Saturday morning.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WAYNE
