COVID-19 Boosters - A Message from Mayor John Krenzel
COVID-19 VACCINE BOOSTERS
As you’ve likely seen in the news, the CDC has formally recommended booster shots for many recipients of the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.
For individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, a booster shot is recommended at 6 months or more after their initial series. For individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, a booster shot is recommended for those who were vaccinated two or more months ago.
Currently eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine booster under the CDC guidelines are those who are:
- 65 years and older
- Age 18 and older who live in long-term care settings
- Age 18 and older who have underlying medical conditions
- Age 18 and older who work or live in high-risk settings
The Office on Aging is offering all three brands of COVID-19 boosters to any South River resident that meets the CDC criteria, by appointment, throughout the month of November.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, I encourage you to call (732) 257-2340 to schedule an appointment.
