Widespread moderate coastal flooding is expected with this afternoon and evening's high tide along Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay, tidal Delaware River, and the ocean front near and south of Atlantic City. Locally major flooding is possible along the tidal Delaware River and Chesapeake Bay.

Residents in these areas should prepare for tidal water inundation and move vehicles from flood prone areas. The flood water may be worsened locally by the rainfall runoff this evening.

In addition to coastal flooding, strong to locally damaging winds are forecast through this evening. The strongest winds are expected to stay confined primarily near coastal areas and across the Delmarva peninsula.

The strongest winds will occur early this afternoon across Delmarva and southern NJ then move up the Atlantic coast of New Jersey into the late afternoon and evening hours. Secure any lose outdoor items, including holiday decorations!
