Due to the weather forecast, the fire hydrant flushing operations for the Kensico Water District and the Old Farm Water District will be postponed until Monday, November 1, 2021 at 9:00 PM and continuing until 12:00 AM.

As water flushing can dislodge impurities within the distribution system, residents are advised to avoid using the water (during the flushing times) due to the normal reduced water quality and turbidity conditions of the water.

The Kensico Water District along the Broad Street area within Hawthorne and in the Old Farm Water District areas near Bear Ridge Road section of the district will all experience the flushing of several hydrants during this event.

There is a good chance residents within these immediate and surrounding areas will experience discoloration in their water during this time period and are advised to avoid using the water for laundry purposes due to the potential water discolored conditions arising from the system flushing.
