Narrative: | |||||
The Camarillo Police Department hosts monthly "Walk in Wednesday" Kid Print fingerprinting and identification events in the Police Station's community room. Parents/Guardians may bring their children to have their fingerprints, photograph and essential information digitally recorded and printed on a two-sided vinyl card. The Kid Print card will allow parents the security of having a current picture, essential personal information and a readable fingerprint available, in the event the child is missing or abducted. Camarillo Police also offer the “Person at Risk” card at this event too. Anyone that may have suffered a severe brain injury, suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s, have developmental disabilities or are generally considered “at risk” may receive two cards similar to those issued from the Kid Print program. This card will include all of the individual’s personal information, diagnosis, care giver’s information, special details regarding the individual’s tendencies and a recent photo. These special programs are offered free of charge and usually conducted on the LAST Wednesday of each month, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The next two dates of service will be Wednesday, November 17th, and Wednesday, December 29th. The November occurrence was moved up one week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Volunteers with the Camarillo Citizen Patrol perform these distinctive programs, which are generously sponsored by the City of Camarillo and the Camarillo Police Department. The event is open to everyone and appointments are not needed. It is recommended that children's personal information and pictures should be updated at least once per year. The Kid Print and Person at Risk programs gives families the opportunity to have this service completed at no cost and updated as needed. |
