CARJACKING SUSPECT ARRESTED
On October 12, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a female victim walked to her vehicle which was parked in the north parking lot of 235 Tennant Station. As she sat in the driver seat, a male suspect approached her and brandished a firearm and demanded her to exit the vehicle. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect entered her vehicle and fled east on Tennant Avenue. The Morgan Hill Police Department conducted a thorough investigation and subsequently identified Skyler Aroz (21 years old), from San Jose, as the primary suspect.
On November 1, 2021, at approximately 8:05 p.m., a Morgan Hill patrol officer located a stolen vehicle as it drove south on Church Street from Mast Street. Officers followed the vehicle to the dead end of Keith Way where Aroz fled from the vehicle. Aroz was immediately apprehended and taken into custody without incident. Aroz was later transported to the Santa Clara County Main Jail and booked into their custody on charges of P.C. 215(a) - Carjacking; P.C. 417(a)2) – Brandishing an unloaded firearm; P.C. 422 – Criminal threats; P.C. 496d – Possession of a stolen vehicle; P.C. 12022.1(a)(1) – Commit a felony while out on bail or own recognizance and P.C. 666.5(a) – Prior theft convictions
