The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of October 24, 2021 - October 30, 2021.        
 
October 24, 2021
Burglary (Garage):
1400 Block of 1st Street. The victim reported between 10/22/21 at 4:00 PM and 10/24/21 at 9:00 AM unknown suspect(s) entered his detached shared garage by breaking the lock. Power tools and a printer stolen. Loss was approximately $550, and damages were approximately $160.  
 
October 25, 2021

October 28, 2021.  
Burglary (Garage): 
1400 Block of Third Street. The victim reported between 10/27/21 at 7:00 PM and 10/28/21 at 6:00 AM an unknown male entered her garage by breaking the latch and lock off. The garage appeared to have been ransacked with unknown items stolen. Video surveillance available.  
 
October 29, 2021
Burglary (Commercial):
940 Hamilton Road (Subway). The victim reported upon arriving to work, the front door was shattered and the register and its contents were missing.  While checking security cameras, she observed a male adult wearing dark pants, a black hoodie and a face mask break the front window with a hammer on 10/29/21 at 11:32 pm. An Epson register valued at $6,500 and $400 in currency was stolen.  The front door was estimated to cost $2,500 to repair. 
 
October 30, 2021

Holiday Shopping Safety Tips:

• Be aware of your surroundings. 
• Remember where you parked your car.
• If shopping late in the day or after dark, park in an area that is well lighted.
• Shop in pairs at the very least.
• As you return to your car, make sure to keep your car key in your hand.
• Do not leave packages visible in your car. Lock them in the trunk or, if possible, take them directly home.
• Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
