Jackson Police are investigating the shooting death of an 18 year old female.
Jackson Police are investigating the shooting death of 18-year-old Yasmine Humphrey and need the community’s assistance in solving this case. On November 8th at approximately 5:50 P.M., officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Lambuth Boulevard and Westwood Avenue.
Moments later, officers were dispatched to a gunshot victim in the area of 417 Lambuth Boulevard. Responding officers located a black female, identified as Yasmine Humphrey, suffering from gunshots. Ms. Humphrey died on the scene. Officers also located a vehicle with bullet holes.
This active investigation is ongoing. Jackson Police, also, do not believe this was a random act of violence but a targeted act of violence. Based on the preliminary investigation, Jackson Police believe the suspect(s) targeted the victim’s vehicle while at the intersection of Lambuth Boulevard and Westwood Avenue. The suspect(s) fired shots into the victim’s vehicle causing injury and the death of Yasmine Humphrey.
