INCIDENT: RURAL CRIMES DEPUTIES RECEIVE RECOGNITION
SUMMARY:
In January 2021, SoCal gas contacted the Rural Crimes Division of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department regarding theft and vandalism to one of their remote solar locations.
Deputies J. Francis, R. Stanley and R. Oakleaf conducted an investigation and identified a possible suspect. Local businesses were contacted who provided video surveillance of the suspect and his truck.
Through further investigation, using Sheriff's databases, deputies positively identified the suspect and verified his truck through the pictures.
A search warrant was written for the suspect’s house. Property belonging to So Cal Gas along with methamphetamine, multiple firearms, and several stolen vehicles were located. The suspect was arrested and booked into custody. The suspect pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced to state prison.
On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, Deputies Francis, Stanley and Oakleaf received an award from So Cal Gas at the annual Terrorism Liaison Organization (TLO) conference in Riverside, California.
