Notable Cases
On Thursday, 10-28-21 at 9:25 p.m., we received a call about suspicious subjects outside a residence on the 100 block of Serravista Avenue. Our officers contacted three subjects standing outside a white Infiniti M45. When the officers were contacting the subjects, they saw a firearm underneath the vehicle. The firearm was loaded with 30-9mm rounds and had no serial number. Because none of the subjects admitted to owning the firearm, the officers brought the subjects into the station for questioning. The officers searched the vehicle and found an additional 31 round magazine and 462 grams of marijuana. The vehicle owner, a 21-year old Daly City resident, admitted to owning the firearm, magazines, and marijuana and was arrested.
On Monday, 11-01-21 at approximately 9:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to a garage on the 700 block of Templeton Avenue on a report of a robbery involving three suspects with firearms. One of the victims, a 61-year old Daly City resident, said he was seated in the driver’s seat of his vehicle inside of the garage, and his friend, a 38-year old Daly City resident, was standing outside of the vehicle. The first victim said all of a sudden, two unknown subjects approached him from the driver’s side of the vehicle, and the other subject approached on the passenger side. The victim saw one of the subjects was armed with a pistol, while the other was armed with a long rifle. The victim said both subjects pointed their firearms at them and said something to the effect of, “Give me your stuff.” There was one more suspect, but the victim did not provide any information regarding his involvement. The subjects stole two cellphones, one wallet, and jewelry. The victim described all three suspects as black male adults in their early 20’s, slender builds, wearing dark clothing and black ski masks covering their faces. The suspects fled in a silver Nissan, and the officers were unable to find the vehicle.
On Monday, 11-01-21 at approximately 9:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Oakridge Drive and Alta Vista Way on a call of an armed robbery. The reporting party/victim said he and his two friends were enjoying the view when three suspects pulled up in a silver SUV. The victim thought they were parking to enjoy the view as well. The victim said all of a sudden, three unknown race males wearing all black and black face coverings came out of the vehicle. The victim said they all had assault rifles, and one suspect pointed the rifle at him and said, “You get over here.” The victim said he and his friends all started running when they saw the rifle. The victim said the subjects fled in the silver SUV. This vehicle was associated with another armed robbery that occurred earlier on Templeton Avenue. There was no loss.
On Wednesday, 11-03-21 at approximately 2:57 p.m., a 35-year old Pacifica resident was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic collision at the intersection of John Daly Boulevard and Highway 280 south on-ramp.

The victim said as he was opening the front door of the building, two black males in their 20’s rushed up to him and demanded his watch and wallet. The victim said one of the suspects had a black semi-automatic handgun. Two other similar robberies involving the same vehicle occurred on the same day. Later that morning, an Alameda County Sheriff’s deputy found the suspect vehicle at the Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, and the lone occupant of the vehicle matched the description of one the robbery suspects. The suspect, a 22-year old Oakland resident, was placed under arrest for this robbery and the other robberies.
On Thursday, 11-04-21 at 2:47 p.m., a 51-year old San Francisco resident walked to her car from the Koi Palace Restaurant and sat in the driver’s seat of her vehicle. The victim was scared and started trying to lock the door by pressing the lock button. The victim said the suspect then stood up and smashed open the window. The victim said the suspect reached in and grabbed her purse, and she tried to hold onto her purse. The victim said the suspect was holding a large sharp object, and fearing she was going to be hurt, she let go of her purse. The male ran to a nearby vehicle and fled the area. The victim sustained a laceration to her hand. Car Accident Scam
Between 10-26-21 and 10-27-21, an 83-year old Daly City resident received a phone call from someone claiming to be a representative from the Luzerne County Courts Office in Pennsylvania claiming that his grandson was involved in a traffic collision, and she needed $8,000 to cover the medical bills. The caller provided the victim with an address and told him to send the money there, and it would be routed to his grandson. The victim sent the fees in three separate envelopes. The following day, the victim received another phone call asking for more money. During this phone call, the victim believed he was being scammed. A couple days later, he learned his grandson was not involved in a collision. The address where the money was sent was not for the courthouse, but in fact a general address for a community college in Pennsylvania.
