"Thank you to all veterans and to their families" on Veterans Day.

Today, the Green Bay Police Department wants to take a moment to honor and thank the men and women who have served our country, both past and present. These men and women have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we have today. The courage and strength that our military members have is something we should never forget.

As a community, we must always show our support for the great members of our military. It is because of our military veterans, and the families who support them, that our great nation is able to enjoy the freedoms that we do. To the family members of our veterans—we thank you for the support you give your veterans each and every day. We know the sacrifices that your families make every day and we thank you for your support.

As we celebrate November 11th, I would like to recognize the men and women of the Green Bay Police Department who are veterans and served our great country. The Green Bay Police Department is proud to have 42 veterans who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. In addition to protecting our community at home, these officers also sacrificed their safety to protect our country, keeping America safe for us all.

Today, we take a few moments to pause and thank our veterans for their service to our country. We will be forever grateful for the sacrifices they have made.

To all veterans, “Thank you for your service and bravery.” To those veterans employed by our city, “it is an honor to have you working for the City of Green Bay.”

At 12:00 PM at Veterans Manor (2900 St. Anthony Dr.), CH Robinson and the Green Bay Police Department are hosting “Serving Those Who Served” luncheon for the veterans who reside there. We want to thank all veterans and today we get to serve them lunch, as they have served us. Photos of the event will be posted to our Facebook page.
