Henry James Brown, 53, arrested in this morning's fatal stabbing on St. Helena Island
Case History
Shortly after 1:00 this morning (November 11, 2021), Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Olde Church Road, St. Helena Island to a report of a stabbing.
When deputies arrived, they found a male, identified as 35-year-old Dominick Lesesene, lying unresponsive near the road.
Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services paramedics attempted to render aid to Lesesene, but he died at the scene of apparent stab wounds.
Witnesses advised that they observed a physical altercation between Lesesene and a male subject outside of a residence.
Witnesses further advised that the subject, 53-year-old Henry James Brown of St. Helena, stabbed Lesesene multiple times during the altercation and then fled the scene.
Deputies and investigators searched St. Helena for Brown and located him at around 10:00 this morning; he was taken into custody without incident.
Brown was charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime in Lasesene's stabbing death.
Following his interview by investigators, Brown was taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center and incarcerated.
Brown has yet to receive a bond hearing for the charges.
