Flood Advisory until 04:00PM Friday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, including the following areas, in northwest Oregon, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Hood River, Lincoln, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington and Yamhill. In southwest Washington, Clark, Cowlitz, Pacific, Skamania and Wahkiakum.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 857 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salem, Hillsboro, McMinnville, Oregon City, Battle Ground, Dallas, Washougal, St. Helens, Kelso, Newport, Sandy, Astoria, Lincoln City, Seaside, Sheridan, Woodland, Warrenton, Vernonia, Castle Rock and Cannon Beach. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
