Full Notification

Sheriff Richard J Behnke reports on 11/13/2021 at 1930 hrs. his office responded to the area of M 60 and Hoyt Street in Howard Township, for a reported 2 vehicle crash.  Deputies responded to the scene and found that a Ford F 150, driven by Darrell White (45) from Cassopolis, Michigan and a Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Damien Brown Jr (25) from Dowagiac, Michigan, sideswiped each other as they were traveling on M 60.  Mr. White was taken to Lakeland Niles for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.  Mr. Brown was treated and released at the scene.  Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. At this time it is undetermined if seat belts were worn.  
 
Deputies were assisted on scene by Howard Township Fire and SMCAS EMS. This crash remains under investigation.
