* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow this evening. Additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow showers possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches possible Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.

* WHERE...NE Gulf Coast including Yakutat

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until midnight AKST tonight. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...6 to 7 inches of snow have been reported so far today. The heaviest snowfall rates expected through Tuesday evening. A changeover to a wintry mix or rain is anticipated late Tuesday night. Additional heavy snow showers are expected to develop Wednesday afternoon through Thursday. Snowfall accumulations may vary greatly over short distances due to the showery nature of the snow.
