San Leandro Police Investigate and Arrest Sexual Assault Suspects

Over the last few months, the San Leandro Police Department investigated a kidnapping and sexual assault. The victim, in this case, is a juvenile. Officers and detectives worked diligently after this was reported and sought arrest warrants for a 41-year-old male and a 39-year-old female residing in San Leandro.

On October 5th, the two suspects, in this case, were arrested for multiple sex crimes and kidnapping.

Detectives learned the victim was kidnapped from Honduras and taken to live in a home in San Leandro, where both suspects lived.  The victim was forced into having sex with her abductor, which escalated into the suspect forcing the victim into prostitution.

In an interview with the 41-year-old male suspect, he admitted to having sex with the juvenile.

"This is an unbelievably tragic incident, and we hope the victim finds solace and closure," said Lieutenant Matt Barajas.
