West Hollywood Station Deputies Arrest a Suspect Who Went on a Crime Spree in #WeHo, Terrorizing Multiple Victims

In the late-night hours of Thursday November 18, 2021, West Hollywood Station Deputies apprehended a suspect who was armed with a box cutter and a bat, terrorized several victims within a two block radius.

The suspect committed three separate crimes in the City of West Hollywood. During the first incident, the suspect was at a local restaurant in the 8600 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The suspect became angry, pulled out a box cutter and threatened the victim. The victim tried to call 911, and the suspect pulled the phone away from the victim, preventing them from calling law enforcement.

At approximately 9:17 pm, West Hollywood Station received a second call with a similar suspect description. In the second incident, the suspect was attempting to break into vehicles parked at a local hotel parking lot in the 8400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. A manager at the hotel confronted the suspect. The suspect armed himself with a baseball bat and threatened the manager. The suspect fled prior to deputies arrival.

At 9:56 pm, a suspect, matching the same description as the previous two crimes, approached a victim on the 8200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The suspect demanded money from the victim. The victim feared for their safety and screamed for help. The suspect fled the scene on a scooter prior to deputies arrival.

At approximately 10:51 pm, a West Hollywood Station Patrol Deputy saw a male, who matched the suspect description of the three crimes above, at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard and advised other patrol units. The Deputy attempted to detain the suspect, who then fled the location. Two additional deputies saw the suspect running from the location. They immediately jumped out of their vehicles and chased the suspect fearing he would attack additional victims. Seconds later the suspect was apprehended and arrested by the pursing deputies and deputies from the Entertainment Policing Team (EPT). The victims were able to positively identify the suspect.
The case including several felony charges will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for filing.
