Yesterday around 6:00 PM, Deputies received a report of a burglary in progress on the 200 block of Baptiste Way, La Cañada Flintridge.  The homeowner had seen a suspect on the property via a home security system.  The homeowner also saw the suspect leave the residence on a bicycle.   

Deputy Leon responded and found a person matching the description on Alveo Road and Viro Road. He safely detained the suspect.  The investigation revealed the person Deputy Leon had detained was the suspect seen in the video.  The suspect also had a warrant for his arrest. He was booked at Crescenta Valley Station for burglary and his warrant. 

For the second time in one week, the timely video evidence from the resident was the critical component of this great arrest.  Crescenta Valley Station recommends residents take steps to help protect their homes.  Video surveillance and alarms help our station respond quicker and with possible suspect information.  Other steps to protect your home including adequate outdoor lighting and locking all doors and windows.
